Gunshots fired at car during road rage incident on Airline Drive
Bossier City police responded to a road rage incident on June 18. The shooter fired multiple shots at the car, but only one struck the vehicle. No one was injured during the incident. The suspect is still on the run, and Bossier police are actively looking for the car and the shooter. No suspect information has been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing and police are confident in updated technology to help catch who ever decided to open fire.
People who live near the intersection of Airline Drive and Oliver received a rude awaking that morning.
“I heard like three gun shots. I thought it was a tire that blew out, but once I seen the police, I knew it was gun fire.”
It happened right next to an elementary school.
“It’s scary when you’re going up and down the street firing at individuals, and it’s in a school zone. And it’s also not that, it’s the neighbors. The people that live around in this area,” an unnamed Bossier resident said. “The bullet could have came inside a house, struck an individual, or anything.”
One neighbor, who decided to remain anonymous, says he is worried that the person who shot the gun is on the loose.
But Bossier City police are confident in updated technology to help catch who ever decided to open fire in a busy intersection.
“There are cameras that are everywhere. We do have license plate reader cameras,” Sgt. Shawn Poudrier said. “I just had a meeting with the sheriff’s office yesterday, and every entrance and exit in Bossier Parish is covered with cameras. They’re throughout the city, so just because you think you’re getting away with the crime doesn’t mean you are.”
The suspect who shot at the car is still on the run, and Bossier police say they are actively looking for the car and the shooter.
BCPD says the shooter fired multiple shots at the car, but only one struck the vehicle.
No one was injured during the incident.
No suspect information has been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
