SALT LAKE CITY – Headed into his senior season, BYU offensive lineman Weylin Lapuaho is set to make a big impact in the trenches for the Cougars.

BYU’s O-Line ranked in the top half of the Big 12 and in the top 50 of the FBS. Much of that credit goes to Lapuaho as he held it down from the interior.

Head coach Kalani Sitake had high praise for Lapuaho both on the field and in the locker room.

“Fantastic guard,” Sitake said. “(He) has the ability to pull and be physical for the inside run. He has the complete mix of what you want from an interior offensive lineman. Tough, physical, understands the game, and (he’s) a great team leader.”

In 2023, Lapuaho was ranked 58th in the 60 in 60. Last year, he jumped up to No. 30.
