U.S. Small Business Administrator Kelly Leffler made a stop in Overland Park on June 25 to talk about how small businesses can benefit from the bill.
Leffler made a trip to ScentHound on 135th and Quivira Road, where she highlighted Trump’s bill, saying it will help small businesses in the metro.
“[Small businesses] create two out of every three new jobs in America, and they’re the ones on our main streets investing in hiring that makes our country run every single day,” said Loeffler.
During the tour, Loeffler described several tax cuts, insisting the bill will drive hiring growth and opportunity. “They rely on these great engines of our economy to make communities work.”
ScentHound franchises Melissa and Brian Markus support the spending bill saying it will put more money in their pockets, ultimately providing additional opportunity to reinvest in their business.
“If an owner gets to keep more of the money they earn through the collaboration of everybody, I think that will spur more growth,” said B. Markus, business owner.
There has been some pushback from both Democrats and Republicans, but Loeffler insists that those who are hesitant, will find the bill benefits small businesses.
“The One Big Beautiful Bill is a small business pro-worker bill, and that’s why Republicans are going to single-handedly pass this bill, hopefully by the July 4 holiday,” said Loeffler.
