Sports Emmys Winners: NBC/Peacock’s Olympics Coverage Dominates, While Steven Spielberg Earns Two Awards (FULL LIST)
The 46th annual Sports Emmys were held Tuesday in New York. Lady Gaga won for her Super Bowl performance. NBC/Peacock won 10 Emmys for its coverage of the Summer Olympics. Charles Barkley won for play-by-play, and Fox’s Joe Davis for studio personality. The Emmys are presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, which administers the Emmys. The New York-based National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences administers the Sports Emmys, which was held at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. Besides Gaga (who won for her Super Bowl performance of “Hold My Hand” in the outstanding music direction category), key winners included NBC/Peacock for its coverage of the Summer Olympics, which received ten wins, while Steven Spielberg earned two for for producing and writing the “Land of Stories” opening.
TNT’s Charles Barkley was recognized for studio analyst, ESPN’s Peyton Manning for event analyst, and Fox’s Joe Davis for play-by-play.
