STATE DEP SENDING SOME ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION GRANT MONEY TO INDIANA COUNTY
Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection has announced over $1.1 million in grant money going to 68 environmental education projects. Indiana County Conservation District will receive $10,180 for their “Indiana County Environmental Futures: Education for Water, Climate and Environmental Justice
Acting DEP Secretary Jessica Shirley said that the projects are meant to connect people to the environment that surrounds them and encourage learning at any age. The program prioritizes proposals that will deliver meaningful environmental education programs to those who live, work or attend schools in Pennsylvania most threatened by climate change and air and water pollution.
The Indiana County Conservation District will receive $10,180 for their “Indiana County Environmental Futures: Education for Water, Climate and Environmental Justice.” As part of the project, the district will focus on creating a water quality lender kit. The project includes hands-on activities in the classroom and experiences in the field.
