The Indianapolis Colts have been relegated to wearing the “Indiana Nights” kit for 1 p.m. ET kickoffs because they haven’t been relevant enough to play in prime time. The Pittsburgh Steelers’ would-be QB1 – right? – won’ts be inordinately saddled with marquee games after North loaded him and the New York Jets up with a mulligan 2024 schedule that didn’t work out for anyone. The Kansas City Chiefs will be playing for the third straight year, while the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers once again will be ranked this year’s top two teams in the NFL. The Los Angeles Rams are ranked No. 3 and the Los Angeles Raiders No. 4, respectively, for the first time in the last three years. The New York Giants are the No. 1 seed in the NFC East, ahead of the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. The Seattle Seahawks are the second-place seed, behind the New England Patriots. The Green Bay Packers are the first team to be ranked in the top 10 of the NFL’s power rankings for the past three years, according to Pro Football Focus. NFL sends clear Aaron Rodgers message with Steelers 2025 schedule
The NFL has the Pittsburgh Steelers playing the New York Jets in Week 1. The game would have been in the afternoon slot if the NFL knew the team was going to sign Rodgers. The Steelers are expected to sign a player to replace Rodgers, but it’s not clear who it will be. The team is expected to make the playoffs if they sign someone other than Rodgers, who has been linked to the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers, among other teams. The NFL has a history of scheduling games in the early afternoon slot, which is what the NFL did with the Packers-Steelers game on Monday night. The New England Patriots and the New York Giants are the two teams that start with seven combined victories for both teams in the 2014 season. the Patriots will be a potential Super Bowl potential in Year 1 under coach Mike Vrabel. the Giants will be under coach Kliff Kingsbury, who will be his former college coach. the Redskins will be coached by former college head coach Kliffs Kingsbury. the Chargers will face the Redskins in a Sunday Night Football matchup. the Ravens will play the Bills in a Monday night game. the Bengals will play Washington on MNF in a NFC championship game last season behind Jayden Daniels, whose breakout performance was 38-33 against the Bengals in a playoff game last year. the Browns will play New England in a Thursday Night Football game in the 2025 season opener in the 2023 season opener. NFL Executive: League Has No Inside Knowledge On Aaron Rodgers, Would’ve Been ‘Reflected’ In Steelers’ Schedule
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2025 schedule has officially been released. It includes several big games, including the league’s first regular-season game in Ireland. However, their season opener against the New York Jets is also noteworthy, especially with Aaron Rodgers potentially landing in Pittsburgh. That could be a sign that the NFL thinks that Rodgers will sign with the Steelers. But, Mike North, the NFL’S vice president of broadcast planning and scheduling, stated that it isn’t the case. North makes it clear that the league has no inside knowledge or strong feeling about Rodgers. That Jets game is already interesting without Rodgers involved. It should see Justin Fields getting to face the Steelers, his former team. There’s intrigue there. But if Rodgers were to sign with Pittsburgh, that game would become far more exciting. That game could be one of the most interesting games of the year if Rodgers is a Steeler. It would certainly warrant being on primetime. That matchup could prove to be too important to risk putting in a less notable spot. We’ll see if Rodgers will have the chance to face his former teams. Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2025 schedule was released along with the rest of the NFL slate Wednesday. Steelers again open their 2025 season on the road, returning to MetLife for the first time since the 2020 season opener. Steelers are away from Acrisure Stadium for three of those first four games, but they’re technically the designated home team for the Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings in Ireland. Steelers’ brand is stronger than ever with four prime-time games and one stand-alone game in Ireland on the schedule as coach Mike Tomlin and his team try to extend the coach’s streak of never having a losing season. The Steelers haven’t won their first international game since 2013, a game they lost 34-27 to the Vikings in London in 2013, though the Vikings are rolling with J.J. McCarthy, who is primed to be a first-round pick in 2024. But it could be hard to predict exactly which game will be the most confounding — Week 15 at Miami, or Week 15 against Baltimore, or even Week 17 at Cleveland. The NFL and its schedule-makers are seemingly optimistic that Aaron Rodgers will eventually sign in Pittsburgh and make the Week 1 season opener in New York and the Week 8 Sunday night game against Green Bay Packers must-watch TV. It could be a game of quarterbacks facing their former teams — if Aaron Rodgers signs with the Steelers. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the 10th hardest team in the NFL, according to the NFL’s strength of schedule study. It says the Steelers’ toughest stretch is between Dec. 7, Week 14 and Dec. 17, when they play the Ravens and the Lions, among the best teams in the NFC. They also face Buffalo, Detroit and Cleveland in the final two weeks of the season, including a pair of late-season games against the Bills and Browns. The New York Jets’ 2025 schedule was released Wednesday with the rest of the NFL slate. First-year coach Aaron Glenn can enjoy the comforts of MetLife Stadium for his first two games. Quarterback Justin Fields will face the Steelers, the team that benched him after a 4-2 start. The Jets have the seventh-easiest schedule in the league (opponents had a.460 winning percentage in 2024) The Jets will close the season with a flurry, conjuring up comparisons to the previous team.. They will win five out of their last six games, but only one of their final six opponents posted a winning record for 2026 (Bills). The Jets face Lamar Jackson in Week 12 and MVP MVP Josh Allen in Week 18. The schedule is ripe for a late-season rally for the Jets’ quarterbacks, such as Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Josh McCown, who are notoriously tough on opponents.. The NFL couldn’t get enough of the Jets in prime time last year, but they’re an afterthought this year. They have only two dates, both divisional matchups — Dolphins and Patriots (Thursday night, Week 11). They have the toughest stretch on the schedule — Steelers, Bills and Bucs — in the first three weeks of the season, which is by far the toughest for a team without Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to sign with the Steelers in the summer. The season opener is a revenge game — and, quite possibly, a double-revenge game — against the Steelers. It’s the debut of the Glenn era, and it’s a possible treacherous start for Justin Fields, who was benched by the Jets and then let go in free agency.
