NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Tallahassee, a nonprofit serving Leon and surrounding counties is the recipient of the $27,600 donation for the second quarter from 100+ Women Who Care/Tallahassee. NAMI is a self-help support and advocacy organization for individuals living with mental health conditions and their families. Each quarter three nonprofits are chosen by a drawing from nominations submitted by members.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Tallahassee, a nonprofit serving Leon and surrounding counties is the recipient of the $27,600 donation for the second quarter from 100+ Women Who Care/Tallahassee.

Part of a national organization, NAMI Tallahassee, was started locally in 1989. NAMI is a self-help support and advocacy organization for individuals living with mental health conditions and their families. NAMI provides free mental health information and related services. Through their programs and support groups, outstanding free education, skills training and support is provided.

Nancy O’Farrell, Executive Director of NAMI Tallahassee, is passionate and dedicated to getting the word out about NAMI Tallahassee. She is extremely knowledgeable and eloquent on the subject of mental illness and works tirelessly to support NAMI’s cause. The first meeting of 100+ Women Who Care Tallahassee was in November, 2020. Since that time, $493,150 has been donated to various local nonprofits. Each quarter three nonprofits are chosen by a drawing from nominations submitted by members. The three organizations are invited to have a representative give a presentation on the pertinent information about the respective organization. Members vote to choose the quarterly recipient.
