The Looks
It was a wicked night at the 2025 Tony Awards, and Cynthia Erivo didn’t come to play. Snatched up in a sculptural off-the-shoulder gown by Schiaparelli, she was a breath of fresh air in a season saturated with gothic hues. The soft, pale tone was a welcome shift. Meanwhile, the décolletage neckline, corset bodice, and velvet skirt formed a trifecta of drama and elegance. As always, Erivo pushed the envelope with statement face jewelry and an equally daring manicure.
Equally audacious was Taraji P. Henson, who served a futuristic slay in Stéphane Rolland. Her coffee-brown gown featured lush fabric anchored by a mono-sleeve that stood like a sculpted monument. The architectural silhouette added a high-fashion edge, while the thigh-high slit delivered the necessary dose of sass. With everyone buzzing about her new film, Straw, it made sense that Henson pulled out a look that was as headline-worthy as her role.
Then came Letoya Luckett, who made it clear she was “outside” all weekend. From the Divorced Sistas premiere to BET’s 45th anniversary dinner, the singer-actress turned heads in a lineup of shimmery mini dresses. At the Straw premiere, she lit up the carpet in a fringed, embellished Terry Costa dress that sparkled with every move. For the BET party, she switched gears with a metallic Ibilola mini, punctuated by an asymmetrical ruffle. While many opted for flowy gowns, Luckett stood out with leg-baring, glitter-forward glamour.
