Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 lead writer was first hired as a voice actor after she “saw a post on Reddit” calling for auditions: “I’ve never done that, it sounds kinda cool”
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s lead writer joined the game as a seemingly inexperienced voice actor. Jennifer Svedberg-Yen was under lockdown in Australia at the time of the call for auditions. The game’s main cast is performed by a cavalcade of Hollywood talent and veteran voice actors. “I call this the Guillaume effect. He’s very good at finding really cool people,” she says of the game’s director, Guillaumes Broche. “Every time the first one is like: ‘Yeah, let’s do it,'” Broche says of finding new voice actors and composers for the game. ‘Expedition 33 takes inspiration from many of the best JRPGs ever made’ Read full article
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Review
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn based RPG with real time parrying and dodging elements. It’s got tiny creatures made of wood and giant mythical creatures that are somehow all equally eccentric. And it’s got a protagonist that looks a bit like Robert Pattinson, who played Batman, yet he is voiced by Charlie Cox. Like I said, it’s weird from top to bottom. The turn-based battling here is distinctive and very satisfying. There are quicktime events sprinkled throughout each encounter, boosting your attacks to deal more damage if you time button presses just right, increasing healing, or causing additional status effects, like burn. The game is available now for the PC, Mac and iOS, and is expected to be released in Europe and North America in the next few months. Best Clair Obscur Expedition 33 builds
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is Sandfall’s debut RPG. How you spec and build your character, party, and whole expedition can make a world of difference. With so many build elements to juggle, figuring out combos and team synergies can get complicated. These early game builds create a party that can help you beat story bosses, Mimes, and the odd Chromatic during the opening hours of Expedition 33. You won’t have many Pictos or Lumina points to work with, so we’re keeping it simple with trinkets you’ll find along the way. We’ve got you started with the best weapons and Expedition 33 Pictos, but to get even more out of your favorite characters, here are the best builds in Sandfall. The best Expedition 33 builds are: Lune, Sciel, Maelle, Benisim, and Lune. Read full article
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Finally Brought Me Back To Cloud Gaming
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has finally brought me back to cloud gaming. It took me a while. I didn’t think it would ever happen to me again after being hurt so many times. I kind of feel bad for Blue Prince, which enjoyed a wonderful three or four weeks of being the best game of 2025 before the Paintress and French Cloud Strife taught us all how to feel bad again. That’s another way you know Expedition 33 is great: It makes everyone sad during a time when everyone is already sad anyway and we’re still all here for it. I’ve paid more than once for a cloud gaming service, each with its own cute little useless cloud gaming controller. At least when I wasted hundreds of dollars on physical garbage, I could still play with the garbage. I hate myself, but I don”t need to take that out on the games. I hope they hurry that film right up. Read full article
If You Suck At Expedition 33, It Probably Isn’t Your Fault
Expedition 33 is a fast-paced turn-based RPG with an unforgiving parry system. Timing is baked into every aspect of combat. Tougher bad guys will hit you with long combos with different kinds of attacks that all need to be countered with near-perfect timing. Even if you’re a seasoned parrier, this is not an easy game. It’s an exceptional game everyone should experience, and because it probably isn’t even your fault that you suck at it. You have to hit your block either right as the enemies’ attack makes contact, or a little bit before. In Expedition 33, you’ll fail every parry if you’re even a fraction of a second too early. You may need to block, parry, jump, or use a more powerful block called a gradient parry. It’s a lot going on, but even compared to other active turn- based games, Expedition 33 has a lot. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 includes one of the strangest real-world professions: mimes. Their in-game counterparts have a ton of health and can easily overwhelm you with their powerful attacks. Thankfully, proper use of the Break system will make short work of these silent enemies. The game’s dodge windows are wider than its parry windows, so practice dodging each part of the Strange Combo before attempting to parry the slower attacks. To dish out some real damage, you must first build up the Mime’s Break Bar using attacks and Skills. While all damage sources contribute to filling up the Break Bar, certain Skills like “Breaking Rules” are made specifically for dealing with shielded enemies. For more information on the game and how to play it, visit the game’s official website or go to the official website here. Read full article
