‘They kinda inspire me:’ Volunteers building special needs sports facility

Volunteers from Pleasure Craft Engine Group and its parent company Correct Craft spent the last couple of weekends building an arts and crafts room, outdoor seating, and an announcer’s box for the baseball stadium. “To be able to bring in over 100 employees from the Correct Craft teams across the US, we’re just making such a huge impact,” said Trey Thurman of the Pleasurecraft Engine Group.

“We kinda flipped the script,” said Bowers. “We created an environment where instead of us going and plugging into the community we’ve created an environment where the community can come and plug into us.”
Helping to make this dream a reality are volunteers from Pleasure Craft Engine Group and its parent company Correct Craft
They spent the last couple of weekends building an arts and crafts room, outdoor seating, and an announcer’s box for the baseball stadium.
“To be able to bring in over 100 employees from the Correct Craft teams across the US, we’re just making such a huge impact over the last weekend and this weekend,” said Trey Thurman of the Pleasurecraft Engine Group.
Living up to its name, The Nest creates an atmosphere where individuals with special needs can feel at ease.
Sharing this goal with one another is making it possible.
“The vision they have is just inspiring, so I think what we’re doing is something special,” Bowers said. “They kinda inspire me!”
The fruits of their labor, playing a game they all love.
“To be able to see the smiles on their faces, to be able to look out into the stands and see the parents of those athletes getting a break, being able to sit back and watch their children or young men and women enjoy the time out on the field, is just priceless.”
