Nintendo Continues A Worrying Trend That Could Leave Some Players Behind

Nintendo is eliminating one of the best ways to get a decent deal on its famously never-on-sale games. With most first-party games priced at $60 (except for Tears of the Kingdom, which costs $70), Nintendo just announced that it’s ending the program on January 30, 2026. Nintendo says it will continue to make new games eligible to be purchased with vouchers even after January 30 for those who are still holding onto ones purchased before the deadline. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has also spoken about the impact of the price of Switch 2 and its games, saying that they didn’t affect the cost of the console, but could affect Nintendo”s decisions down the line. The original Switch versions of cross-generation games like Pokémon Z-A and Metroid Prime Beyond are also eligible for purchase with vouchers, which could add up to a pretty hefty discount over time.

With the launch of the Switch 2, Nintendo ushered in a wave of concern about the rising price of gaming as a hobby. The new console was announced at a higher price than just about anyone was expecting, and it opened the door for first-party games to get more expensive, too. Now, with the approaching end of a program that currently lets players save by pre-paying for two games, Nintendo is eliminating one of the best ways to get a decent deal on its famously never-on-sale games.

For the past few years, Nintendo has offered Switch Online members the opportunity to buy game vouchers. A pack of two costs $100, and they can be redeemed for a digital game within a year of purchase. With most first-party games priced at $60 (except for Tears of the Kingdom, which costs $70), redeeming both vouchers is a pretty significant savings. And Nintendo just announced that it’s ending the program on January 30, 2026.

Nintendo is doing away with a program that offered a significant discount on Switch games. Nintendo

Players will still be able to purchase game vouchers up until the January 30 cut-off. Those vouchers will then be valid for a full year after purchase, so there’s still a way to get games that release in the following year for a bit of a discount. Nintendo says it will continue to make new games eligible to be purchased with vouchers even after January 30 for those who are still holding onto ones purchased before the deadline. The original Switch versions of cross-generation games like Pokémon Z-A and Metroid Prime Beyond are also eligible for purchase with vouchers.

In some ways, the end of the game voucher program is no surprise. Around the launch of the Switch 2, Nintendo already announced that the vouchers would not apply to any games for the new console. That means the vouchers would become obsolete at some point, as Nintendo eventually phases out original Switch games, but the change is coming sooner than owners of the original console may have expected or hoped. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has also spoken about the impact of tariffs on the price of Switch 2 and its games, saying that they didn’t affect the price of the console, but could affect Nintendo’s decisions down the line.

“If the assumptions on tariffs change, we will consider what kind of price adjustments would be appropriate, taking into account various factors such as the market conditions,” Furukawa said in an investor call, according to GamesIndustry.biz.

Original Switch versions of some upcoming games will still qualify for vouchers. Nintendo

That doesn’t mean that adjusting for tariffs led to the end of the game vouchers program, but it should signal that Nintendo could be even more conservative on discounts it offers.

To make matters worse for Switch fans, this isn’t even the first discount program Nintendo has ended in recent months. Until March, players would earn five percent of their digital game purchases on the eShop as gold points, which could be applied directly to the cost of new games. Especially for people who made a lot of eShop purchases, the rebate could add up to a pretty hefty discount over time. But Nintendo discontinued it just before the Switch 2 became available, and as with the end of game vouchers, it isn’t saying specifically why.

It’s entirely possible that Nintendo could introduce a new discount program for the Switch 2, but there’s no signs it’s doing so just yet. Nintendo’s gold points and game vouchers were unique to the console, so it may not be surprising that it’s doing away with discount programs that none of its competitors offer, but Nintendo is also notorious for its aversion to sales on first-party games. And where PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass offer ways for owners of those consoles to get a large collection of classic and relatively new games cheaply, Nintendo’s own classic library available through Switch Online is much more limited.

The change also comes at a time when gaming as a hobby is getting more expensive across the board. Xbox Game Pass itself had a recent price increase, while some developers are calling it both a bad deal for their studios and unsustainable for Xbox itself. Nintendo may be just one part of a trend toward more expensive games, but it couldn’t have come at a worse time.

Looking for even more Nintendo Switch game deals? I’ve added a few extra additions to our roundup of top game deals over at Amazon in the US, and you can take a look for yourself to level up your existing Switch game library. (Image credit: Future)

Underrated game alert I’ve just spotted a deal on one of my fave Switch games of all time, Disney Dreamlight Valley. Fans of Disney and Animal Crossing will love this one – go fishing with Goofy, cook with Remy, hang out with Stitch, or become besties with Anna and Elsa. The choice is yours as you build your valley and harvest crops in this super chill life-sim adventure game. This is the lowest UK price I’ve seen it at, now just £25.99, down from the usual £44.99 over at Amazon. Save 42% Disney Dreamlight Valley: was £44.99 now £25.99 at Amazon You can purchase extra DLC for this should you choose, and there’s the option to buy extra in-game content, including moonstones, outfits, and more.

Shop here for UK Nintendo gift cards from £15 to £100. (Image credit: Future / Amazon)

I’ve spent so many hours hunting for Switch deals on Amazon that the algorithm has started recommending nothing but Switch games and accessories for the time being. Just remember to double-check which Nintendo Switch model the accessory is compatible with before you make a purchase this Prime Day to avoid any disappointment. (Image credit: Future / Amazon)

I have 3 words for you guys… MEGA Blok Pikachu. This non-official Lego set is super fun, my fiancé bought it for me for Christmas last year, and I’m yet to complete building his head. I’ll be honest, this set is very very yellow, which can make it difficult to assemble, but that only adds to the fun! Who’s that Pokémon? It’s Pika-who! (and it’s on sale for $41.99 at Amazon US) (Image credit: Future)

Right, enough of this cutesy stuff. If you want a Switch game that your kids definitely WON’T hijack, you probably won’t find a better option than Five Nights At Freddy’s – Into The Pit. So instead of jumping around in a fairytale land or going on twee anime adventures, this latest entry in the Five Nights horror-game franchise offers you a chance to “immerse yourself in a narrative experience where you try to save your friends, your family, and your own life.” Sign me up. Especially now that it’s 31% off for Prime Day, down to £17.99 from £25.99 on Amazon UK… (Image credit: iam8bit)

I use every opportunity I get to remind myself of humanity’s Official Peak Era, otherwise known as the 1990s. And if I needed a carry case for my Switch, I just know I would jump right at this one: (Image credit: Numskull) This, my dear reader, is the Numskull Travel Case for Nintendo Switch, to fit 10 games and Switch accessories. And yes, of course it’s a hard shell one. Usually £14.99, it’s 15% off for Prime Day, so you can pixellate your on-the-go-gaming for only £12.74 now. Man, I want this so bad. • Numskull Official TMNT Hard Shell Travel Case for Nintendo Switch – 15% off, now £12.74 on Amazon UK

Let’s (Monster) mash it up a bit… Heyup, it’s Erlingur here, taking over the Switch blog for a bit. Now, I like Mario Kart as much as the next person, but for Proper Fun, I have always had a soft spot for monster truck games. So you can imagine my giddy joy when I found out that Monster Jam Showdown is 20% off in the UK for Prime Day. Previously £24.95, it’s now discounted to a nice, round £20 for a ‘limited time’, according to Amazon. Unlike my amount of enjoyment of these games. Which is unlimited. • Monster Jam Showdown – 20% off, now £20 at Amazon UK (Image credit: Milestone Games)

(Image credit: Future / Shin’en Multimedia) You don’t need to spend a fortune to get one of Switch 2’s best games. Read our review of the budget sci-fi racer Fast Fusion to find out why this should be on your to-play list, regardless of savings on Prime Day.

Just bought a Switch 2 on Prime Day? I’ve put together a crib sheet of everything you’ll need to get the most from your new console, and many of these accessories and games are reduced today (see the main deals lists above). Games! Buy physical in the sales or check my advice earlier about eShop credit for often more savings. (Image credit: Nintendo) Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom : An epic open-world, future-proofed adventure, this is already upgraded for Switch 2 (or buy the Switch 2 edition).

An epic open-world, future-proofed adventure, this is already upgraded for Switch 2 (or buy the Switch 2 edition). Metroid Prime Remastered : An atmospheric retro remake. This is already gorgeous and runs even smoother on new hardware.

An atmospheric retro remake. This is already gorgeous and runs even smoother on new hardware. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + Booster Pass: We rate this more than the new Mario Kart World, and it’s on sale today; 96 tracks or multiplayer mayhem. Smart accessories! Switch 2 Pro Controller: The Switch 2 supports a new Pro Controller with upgraded haptics and slightly altered button layout.

The Switch 2 supports a new Pro Controller with upgraded haptics and slightly altered button layout. microSD Express Card (256GB or 512GB): Switch 2 supports microSD Express, enabling faster game loads and smoother video capture. I’d recommend either the Samsung PRO Ultimate microSD Express 512GB or the SanDisk Extreme PRO Express.

Switch 2 supports microSD Express, enabling faster game loads and smoother video capture. I’d recommend either the Samsung PRO Ultimate microSD Express 512GB or the SanDisk Extreme PRO Express. Carry Case for Switch 2: The console and Joy-Cons are slightly larger than Switch OLED., so you’ll need a new case.

(Image credit: Alvaro Reyes via Unsplash) Prime Day is a great chance to buy a new SD card for your Switch – now it may not feel like the most fun purchase but every Switch owner knows the lack of internal memory and rising demands from AAA games means these are now essential. Below I’ve listed the two best SD card deals on Prime Day for Switch. Things to keep an eye on, the OG Switch supports standard microSDXC cards, so there’s no need for an Express version, unless you buy a Switch 2, which requires microSD Express. The Samsung EVO Plus may be more expensive but it offers excellent speed and capacity. SanDisk 256GB Ultra microSDXC – 20% off, now £14.42

Samsung EVO Plus 512 GB microSDXC – was £35.49 , now £27.99

(Image credit: Nintendo) Here’s a good money-saving tip for anyone buying Nintendo on Prime Day: Buy eShop Credit at a discount instead of paying full price. Why? Because online retailers – ShopTo, CDKeys, Nintendo Life, and even Nintendo itself regularly sell Nintendo eShop credit at 5–15% off. So, instead of spending $50 / £50 on a game, buy an eShop card for less and buy the same game digitally and save. You can ‘stack’ your discounts too, combining discounted eShop credit with eShop sales events – especially over Prime Day, Black Friday, and Nintendo Direct weeks for more savings. Now Nintendo has GameShare and Virtual Game Cards, buying digitally on the eShop makes more sense too.

And have you ever seen the amazing recreations of Nintendo games made by fans? We especially loved this 3D Super Mario remake, which was made for free in Unreal Engine 5 but took a year to complete! I Spent 365 Days Remaking Super Mario World In 3D! – YouTube Watch On This isn’t the only brilliant Unreal Engine remake we’ve seen. Stand by for more…

(Image credit: Nintendo/Future) In the UK, Very has Switch 2 stock, you can get a Switch 2 plus Mario Kart World for £429.99 and there are other offers with other games and accessories bundled in. Okay, so these aren’t exactly mega deals, but at least there’s stock. Shop Nintendo Switch 2 offers at Very

Probably the standout deal this Prime Day doesn’t come from Amazon at all but from Antonline. You can get the Switch 2 console plus The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom bundle for $619.95. As a reminder the Switch 2 retails at 449.99 with games retailing around $80. This bundle does get you extra ambios though. Get Switch 2 console plus The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom bundle for $619.95 at Antonline.

(Image credit: Future) Looking to buy a Switch 2 at Best Buy? Unfortunately they have sold out. It’s worth keeping an eye in case they do pop back up again though.

Good morning Switch seekers. This is Rosie Hilder here. I’ve just been through and updated the deals above. There’s not a lot of movement from yesterday although a few things have sold out so be quick! I’ll keep checking and will be back soon with any deals that have caught my eye.

(Image credit: Nintendo) I’m taking a break for tonight. I’ll leave you mixed the sad news that Amazon UK appears to be out of Switch 2 stock. Very still has stock, though. And Amazon has the Switch OLED model reduced to £238 Over in the US, Amazon is still taking invite requests for the Switch 2.

(Image credit: Nintendo) Amazon US has finally started taking Switch 2 orders again today – yay! The restock is perfectly timed for Prime Day. The catch is that you’ll need to request an invite. It can’t guarantee that everyone will be accepted, but it’s worth trying if you’re still searching for stock.

If you’ve got all of the titles on your Nintendo Switch game wish list ticked off, then our Digital Arts & 3D editor has found some epic deals on some PS5 retro remake games for that hit of nostalgia we all seek on a Wednesday evening. Take a look at his Prime Day roundup below. (Image credit: Konami / Square Enix)

One thing I’ve been dying to try out with my Nintendo Switch is a set of XR gaming glassess. I’ve heard that these are fantastic for gaming on the go (think aeroplane), and pull up a ginormous display screen right in front of your eyes. Hopefully, I’ll have a set of brand-new XR glasses in for testing soon, but for now, I’ve spotted a deal on the premium XREAL One AR glasses over at Amazon, reduced from $569 to $449 in a Prime-exclusive deal. Creative Bloq readers can also bag an extra 5% off these specs using the code ‘XREALONE’ before you checkout, which brings the price to just $420 (that’s a $150 saving!). There are also some deals on similar specs from RayNeo with $44 off the Air 3s AR/XR gaming glasses, as well as a whopping 30% off VITURE Pro glasses, originally $499, now $349 over at Amazon. (Image credit: RayNeo)

Did you know that SanDisk has official Pokémon SD cards for the OG Nintendo Switch (not the Switch 2)? There’s a yellow Pikachu 256GB card, a Gengar 512GB card, and a Snorlax (my fave Pokemon) 1TB card, which is on sale over at Amazon in the UK for £83.99 down from £127.99. (Image credit: Western Digital)

If you already own a Switch 2, have you stocked up on accessories yet? If not, I put together a handy guide on the very best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories for you to check out. You won’t need all of these, but some will definitely come in handy, such as the extra storage, quirky controllers, and who doesn’t love steering wheels for Mario Kart World? (Image credit: Future / Nintendo)

Do we think Nintendo might possibly bring out some Switch 2 special editions? I’m really hoping so, as I’m yet to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 for that exact reason. Ideally, I’d love to see a limited edition Pokémon Switch 2, but with Legends Z-A set for an October release, I think it might be too soon for Nintendo to bring out a special edition so soon. Maybe next year? (Image credit: Nintendo / Future / Aishah Lenore via Unsplash)

Remember earlier on when I said we’d tell you if a deal is bad? Well, Walmart’s Nintendo Switch “deals” are ones to potentially avoid. It has the Switch 2 (no game) in stock for $659.99 right now, which is $210 dearer than it should be for the console alone. The bundle deal with Mario Kart World is priced correctly at $499, but it’s out of stock at the time of writing. Our advice: try not to get dragged into overspending on the Switch when it’s not necessary. If you have the patience to wait a little longer, stock will eventually return. Also, Antonline is expecting a Switch 2 restock “coming soon” according to its website. In the UK – There’s stock over at Very on the best bundle with Mario Kart World, and it’s selling fast. (Image credit: Future / Walmart)

While you wait to find more, why not have a look at our brilliant Switch 2 content, including our unboxing reaction. Plus there’s a full Switch 2 review, and also one of the Mario Kart game (spoiler: we weren’t totally convinced). (Image credit: Nintendo)

Since there will be lightning deals coming up today, we can’t be sure what else will appear but we’ll he here waiting for whatever comes – just keep checking in with us. (Image credit: Nintendo)

If you’re snagging Woot’s $100 off deal, you have two colour options for the Switch OLED – white, or neon blue and red. (Image credit: Nintendo)

(Image credit: Future/Nintendo) In previous years, deals on the brilliant OLED variant of the Nintendo Switch have been practically non-existent. So Woot’s $100 off deal, which brings the price down from $349 to $249, is well worth snagging this year.

(Image credit: Erik Mclean at Unsplash) You know what I was saying about the lack of Switch console deals? Scratch that – Amazon-owned Woot has just launched a bunch of killer deals on the Nintendo Switch OLED, knocking $100 off the price.

(Image credit: Nintendo/Future) Good morning deal hunters! Well, on this, the second day of supposed deals, we’re still not seeing any decent deals on Switch consoles. The games are where it’s at – over at Woot, there’s $20 off Mario classics including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Party Jamboree.

(Image credit: Nintendo) I’ll be taking a break for tonight soon, so I’ll leave with an update on where things stand as we reached end of the first day of this four-day Prime Day sale. There’s still only very sporadic Switch 2 stock in the US, but in the UK you can ordered the new console at both Very and Amazon. At Amazon, you now need to request an invite (click the button and follow the instructions). The other deals listed above were still in stock at the time of writing. Happy hunting!

(Image credit: Future) If you can look beyond the ugly UI and the misleading numbers all over the place, Shop To is taking back orders on the Switch 2. No, it’s not the 17% saving being claimed because the Switch 2 doesn’t cost $538.54, it costs $449, which makes this a saving of just $1. The confusing prices in gold and grey are for members, who do get a genuine discount. There’s no knowing when stock will arrive though.

(Image credit: Future) Switch 2 Stock Alert!! Switch 2 appears to be available to order online at Target right now but the site has gone haywire and it’s not letting me put the item in my cart even though it shows as available. Give it a go and see if it works for you.

(Image credit: Nintendo / Amazon) It’s getting late in the UK right now, so what better way to brighten up your desk space than with this Super Mario Bros Piranha Plant lamp? It’s sold by Paladone but officially licensed by Nintendo – and currently 20% off down to just £11.99 over at Amazon. I think it’s really really cool if I’m honest, and if I didn’t already have a Snorlax neon light I’d absolutely buy this for my gaming room. Save 20% Super Mario Bros Piranha Plant Lamp: was £14.99 now £11.99 at Amazon CHOMP

(Image credit: Nintendo) I suspect most people will be more keen to wait for the Switch 2 or grab a Switch OLED, but there is a tiny discount on the original Nintendo Switch console in grey over at Walmart. It’s nowhere near as big a saving as the website is claiming – don’t be fooled by the misleading prices quoted by Walmart’s third-party sellers, this is only $20 off the recommended retail price. Switch console in grey: $299 £278.48 at Walmart

(Image credit: Nintendo) As is often the case, it’s the Switch Lite that’s coming in for little deals. We mentioned one in the UK below. In the US, it’s the only Switch console with a discount on Amazon, where it’s reduced from $199.99 to $186 in turquoise.

(Image credit: Future) Hello hello! It’s Beth here (CB’s resident ecom writer), and I’ll be with you for the late shift this evening as we continue the hunt for any Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals and discounts. I won’t lie to you guys, It’s a bit disheartening that we’re not seeing a ton of deals on Nintendo tech this Prime Day (perhaps the Switch 2 launch is to blame?). But in any case, my plan is to keep the vibes going, and continue to share any discounts that I find with you on everything even remotely Nintendo Switch related. If you’ve just arrived here, this is Creative Bloq’s dedicated live blog devoted to Nintendo Switch deals this Prime Day. Every post you see has been written in real time, by real journalists (like me, I’m very serious about tech), so don’t expect any AI slop here. Sure, we do use affiliate links in articles like this one to cover our coffee bills, however we’re not simply trying to sell you on rubbish. If we think a deal is bad, we’ll tell you. And if we think a deal is good, you’ll be the first to know. So stick with us!

(Image credit: Nintendo/Future) The cheapest you can get the Nintendo Switch Lite in the UK at Amazon is £164.94, that’s for the Coral version. In the US at Amazon, the grey version is cheapest, at $180. Which colour will you go for?

(Image credit: Nintendo/Future) One of the aforementioned good deals is on on the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection game, which gets you seven classic titles in one. It is currently 50% off, down from $49.99 to $24.88 at Amazon and it’s available to non-Prime members. Get Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics for $49.99 $24.88 at Amazon

Hello Switch deal hunters! This is Rosie Hilder reporting for duty before I head off for the day. It’s been a long day hunting for Switch deals but the headline news is that there aren’t really any available on consoles at the moment. There are, however, deals on accessories and games, which we’ve detailed both above and below. Below, you can jump to explore all the latest deals on Amazon. Shop all Nintendo Switch deals at Amazon US

Shop al Nintendo Switch deals at Amazon UK

(Image credit: Asus / ROG) Believe it or not, the Nintendo Switch isn’t the only handheld games console out there – and deals on the rest are easier to find. We’re big fans of the Rog Ally – and it’s currently 23% off at £399.99.

One of the best things about the Nintendo Switch is the ability to change the look, thanks to the removable Joy-Cons. And at Walmart right now, you can save nearly 50% on these super colourful Joy-Cons, down from $49.99 to $25.64. (Image credit: YUOY)

(Image credit: Nintendo) While we’re unlikely to see many deals on the Nintendo Switch 2, the new console is well worth checking out even at full price – as we said in our review, it’s so much more than just more of the same.

So it is fair to say there aren’t really any deals on consoles. But there are offers on accessories and games. And I’ll be back with accessories deals…..

So how do we know what is a good deal? We use a special tool called Camel Camel Camel, which tracks prices across the years on Amazon. This tells us whether something is comparatively a good deal or not. You can try it yourself! (Image credit: Camel Camel Camel) Try Camel Camel Camel

(Image credit: Future / Lenovo) If you’d rather have a non Switch handheld, there’s an ace deal on the Lenovo Legion Go – it’s a bit pricier, but more powerful and with a whole different range of games. See our article on the $200 off the Lenovo Switch alternative here, or shop at Best Buy below: Shop Lenovo Legion Go at Best Buy – $200 off

Would you like some games? Amazon is the place to be, where there is up to 50% off. There’s big titles like Donkey Kong and Mario. (Image credit: Nintendo)

I do have to say, I don’t think it’s a bad thing to go for the OLED if you want a Switch. Up until a month ago we were recommending it and it is only a 2021 piece of tech… (Image credit: Nintendo / Future)

So have you played the Switch 2 yet? We loved it. But we weren’t sure about Mario Kart… see our full review for more on that. (Image credit: Nintendo)

The thing is this Prime Day is apparently there are going to be some lightning offers to watch out for. That is something that’s been missing from Prime Days recently, though when I started covering them way back at the beginning they were a key part of the sales event. That’s why it’s important to keep checking back on our page as we’ll have all the up to date info for you. (Image credit: Giphy)

Okay so here goes. If you are in the UK and you don’t fancy a Switch 2, you can grab the following: (Image credit: Future/Nintendo) Nintendo Switch Lite at £165 at Amazon (lowest price ever)

Nintendo Switch OLED for £203 at OnBuy

Nintendo Switch OLED for £243 at Amazon Bear in mind that OnBuy IS legit but IS a marketplace so you’re relying on the individual sellers to come through. The other price we’ve got on the OLED isn’t necessarily amazing, but they are a bit cheaper than the RRP. However, the Lite is at its lowest price ever. So that’s something.

Those in the UK who don’t want a Switch 2, I’ll be back with some game and OLED options…

But if you’d like an OLED I can find you a deal – that international spec we discussed yesterday from Walmart is still there at just $259 or if you’d like a US console you can get it for $335 at Amazon – not marked as a deal for Prime Day but a hair cheaper than full price. Though, of course, the RRP is probably dropping a tad because of the Switch 2 so it’s not a huge bargain. (Image credit: Nintendo) Is it worth it? Well it is still a great console, and the games play beautifully on its big bright screen. SO if you want to save money then it isn’t a bad option.

I’m afraid US gamers are still out of luck right now – there is no stock beyond those inflated prices we see on Walmart from third-party sellers. Obviously we would never fully recommend paying those prices, but if you’re super desperate you can see the $673 console right here. (Image credit: Nintendo)

Good morning deal hunters! I’m in the process of checking all the offers available this morning and will be right back. But exciting news for the UK – Switch 2 stock has ARRIVED. No deals, obvs, but the stock itself is quite exciting isn’t it? (Image credit: Nintendo) Shop Nintendo Switch at Amazon

(Image credit: Nintendo) Recovering from my disappointment at the lack of Prime Day Switch deals in the UK, let’s remember the positives: Switch 2 is in stock at Amazon and at Very. There are also a few deals about on Switch Lite for anyone who wants a more portable console. it’s reduced from £199 to as low as £165. I’m taking a break for the night, but remember that Prime Day lasts four days this year. Keep checking back because we’ll be tracking the best Nintendo Switch Prime Day deals through to the end of the sale.

(Image credit: SanDisk) Prime Day has officially begun in the UK. So far, there’s one Prime Day Switch deal and that’s…. ready for it?…. drum roll… £1.01 off a Micro SDXC card. Sorry. Here are the details in full, but I think everyone will agree that this measly deal isn’t worth signing up to Prime for. SanDisk Nintendo Switch 256GB Micro SDXC card: £19.99 £18.98 at Amazon

(Image credit: Nintendo) The good news for Switch fans in the UK is that at least Amazon has the Switch 2 in stock. There’s no discount, and I don’t expect there will be any during Prime Day, but at least you can order the console from home without having to queue up somewhere or pay an inflated price. Nintendo Switch 2: £395.99 at Amazon

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World: £429.99 at Amazon

Guys! Set your Nintendo Alarmo! As there are now under 8 hours to go until Prime Day officially kicks off in the UK 🎉 🎉 🎉 Will we see any worthwhile deals on Nintendo Switch consoles, games, or accessories this year? Only time will tell. (Image credit: Nintendo)

Is anyone here into cosplay? When I think of Nintendo characters, Mario is usually the first one that comes to mind. I recently taught myself how to 3D print cosplay props for an in-depth project, and the world’s favourite plumber made the cut as a ginormous head. This probably took about 3+ days in total to put together, but I think it looks pretty awesome. Would you wear this? (Image credit: Future)

Bringing it back to accessories for a second, can we talk about how cute this Hori Split Pad Pikachu & Mimikyu edition is?? (and it’s 22% off). The Gengar edition is also calling me. If you’re looking for some of the best Joy-Con alternatives, then Hori Pads are a great choice. They have ergonomic grips, turbo functionality and rear triggers while performing just like official Nintendo Joy-Con controllers, but with a pro controller-like experience in Handheld Mode. UK SWITCH GAME DEALS ALERT Don’t worry UK gamers, we haven’t forgotten about you. There are a few pretty good SWitch game deals right now over at Amazon, including several of my fave titles. Top deal Save £15.80 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: was £49.99 now £34.19 at Amazon Arguably the most popular Switch game of all time, it’s rare that we see Mario Kart 8 Deluxe drop below its retail price of £49.99. The latest Mario Kart World release alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 could have something to do with this price cut, as plenty of gamers have made the switch (pardon the pun) over to this newer title instead. This doesn’t make Mario Kart 8 Deluxe any less fun, and it’s one of my all-time favourite game night titles to play (my fiancé is actually banned from playing this as he’s a bit of a sore loser). Great for couples Save 39% It Takes Two: was £35.99 now £21.99 at Amazon This is my favourite multiplayer game to play with my fiancé. We love this fun co-op game as it involves a couple struggling with separation issues before being transformed into their daughter’s dolls, tasked with navigating a miniature world to get back home. It’s really fun to play together, but honestly, you should consider this game for the art style alone. Girl boss Save £24 Princess Peach Showtime: was £59.99 now £35.99 at Amazon Despite what Amazon says, the original retail price of this game at launch was £59.99, so this deal is definitely worth grabbing. I love this game as it finally puts our Princess Peach in the spotlight she deserves, as she transforms into different roles with showstopping abilities. From swordfighter to Kung Fu Champion, this is Peach as we’ve never seen her before, and at a discounted price, too.

If you’re in the UK right now (like me), then it’s safe to say Nintendo Switch console deals are looking a little sparse. However, I have managed to find one excellent Switch OLED bundle deal, and another that I think you should definitely avoid if you want the best price. DO buy – At onBuy right now, you can get a white Switch OLED for only £203, down from £299.99, which is a great price. DON’T buy – Over at Amazon, you can get a bundle with a white Switch OLED + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + 12 months of Nintendo Switch online for £299.95, down from £329.95. I’ve spotted that Mario Kart 8 is only £34 over at Amazon right now (usually £49.99), and an NSO membership will usually cost £34.99 – so if my math is correct, the deal above at onBuy is about £28 cheaper than getting this Amazon bundle. Speaking of accessories, Prime Day isn’t just about saving on big spends. There’s currently a deal on this SanDisk 128GB Micro SDXC card for the OG Nintendo Switch console for only $17.49 at Amazon. We know from reporting on this deal last year that it usually retails for around $34.99, so this is in fact a much better deal than Amazon is making out (and it’s slightly cheaper than last year too, when it was reduced to $18.88). Keep in mind that this SD card will NOT work for the Nintendo Switch 2, as the newer console is only compatible with MicroSD Express cards. UK Deal – £12.98 at Amazon (Image credit: SanDisk)

Hey guys, Beth here! I’m Creative Bloq’s ecommerce writer, and just like our editor, Georgia, I’m super excited to be bringing you all of the hottest Nintendo Switch deals this Prime Day. That includes deals on ALL consoles (not just the latest Switch 2), as well as reporting on an array of anticipated Nintendo Switch games and accessories. Personally, I’m yet to purchase a Nintendo Switch 2 console – though I really really want one – and the reason I’m waiting might be a little silly. However, that won’t stop me from stocking up on any discounted Nintendo Switch 2 accessories this week if a worthy deal crops up. Stick with us right here as we do all of the Prime Day deals hunting for you (I recommend bookmarking this page), and check out our other Prime Day hubs focusing solely on Apple tech, like iPad deals, as well as the top Cricut machine deals as and when we see them. Soon I’ll be handing over to our resident Switch super-fan for more insight than you could dream of, but I’ll see you later on in the sales event. Thanks for being here.

(Image credit: Target) Target also has a game sale on, FYI – the deals aren’t necessarily better than the Amazon ones already live and expected to land tomorrow, but if you are a Target Circle member you could get a bargain. Games reduced to $39.99 to Target Circle members

(Image credit: Nintendo) It will be an excellent time to buy some Switch accessories. I’ll put a selection in the main post soon, but for now just know you can look around at Amazon, Walmart, Antonline and more. Best Buy doesn’t seem to include any in its sale, FYI. Be on the lookout for cheap cases, controllers, SD cards and more. Shop Amazon accessories

Shop Walmart Switch accessories

Searching for a Switch 2 has been a source of pain for Nintendo fans lately. UK gamers have been a bit luckier than those in the US. Currently things are a little bleaker than they have been for even those fans in the UK, with most retailers showing out of stock. But this week might hold some good news.

(Image credit: Future) So far, all the goods have been in the games – with up to 50% off Nintendo Switch games for 4th of July. There have been deals on everything from Mario to a random sounding game called ‘Stray’. You can see all that above. The Switch 2, whether or not you get one, is backwards-compatible so you’ll be able to play any game you buy on there without sweat.

I think it’ll be a great year for Nintendo Switch game deals

(Image credit: Nintendo) So what is happening out there? Well, there is also a deal on the Switch OLED at Walmart – it’s only $286. It is a Japanese import but that’s not anything to worry about – it’s still the same console you’ll just need to change the language and possibly get yourself an adaptor. I can understand not being sure about getting an OLED in these new fangled times of the Switch 2. But honestly, it’s only a 4 year old console and until a month ago we were recommending it. It will still do the job more than adequately… and the screen is OLED for crying out loud. Just as we would have suggested the OG Switch to those wanting to save money in times of old, now we suggest this. There are also offers on the Lite. I’ll be back with those.

This Way to Get Cheaper Nintendo Switch Games Will Stop Working Next Year

Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers are set to end in early 2026. The vouchers can be exchanged for two games from the Switch catalogue. Many games included in the scheme are priced at $59.99 each, giving a saving of around $10 per a title. Nintendo says more games will come to the service throughout the rest of its lifespan, and it notes new titles will be “added when pre-orders start on Nintendo eShop’ The company confirmed previously it wouldn’t be offering the scheme for Switch 2 games, and there’s currently no sign of the company offering an alternative.

Nintendo is ending a scheme that savvy gamers used to save money on some of the Switch’s most popular titles. Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers are set to end in early 2026.

In a lengthy FAQ post outlining the new rules, Nintendo confirmed it would stop selling the vouchers from Jan. 30, 2026. Those with outstanding vouchers can continue to use them for a year from purchase, meaning this deal will end on Jan. 30, 2027.

You have just over six months to purchase new vouchers, and the last opportunity to use them will be a little over 18 months away. The vouchers can be purchased by anyone with a Switch Online membership.

Priced at $99.99, the vouchers can be exchanged for two games from the Switch catalogue. Many games included in the scheme are priced at $59.99 each, giving a saving of around $10 per a title. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is also included, despite costing $69.99. Buying that game is the best saving you can make with these vouchers.

Many popular games from franchises such as Animal Crossing, Bayonetta, Mario, Splatoon, Pokémon, Pikmin, and Zelda are included. You can see all eligible games here. The brand says more games will come to the service throughout the rest of its lifespan, and it notes new titles will be “added when pre-orders start on Nintendo eShop.”

Nintendo’s own software very rarely drops in price, especially on the company’s own store. The Switch Game Vouchers scheme has proven a helpful way for customers to get discounts on these expensive titles.

The company confirmed previously it wouldn’t be offering the scheme for Switch 2 games, and there’s currently no sign of the company offering an alternative. This voucher scheme was introduced a few years into the original Switch’s lifespan launching in the US in May 2019. That’s just over two years after the launch of the Switch, so could Nintendo do something similar in 2027 for the Switch 2? Only time will tell.

One of the big talking points of the Nintendo Switch 2’s launch has been the company’s move toward price hikes with Mario Kart World being its first game to hit $79.99. That may now be the norm for many games, although the company will sell Donkey Kong Bananza for $69.99. That game comes out on July 17.

Samsung’s Cheaper Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE Isn’t Easy to Buy Through a Carrier

AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have deals live for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, but there’s no sign of them stocking the Z Flip7 FE. The phone is available unlocked from Samsung for $899.99, plus other retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy, have the phone on sale.Boost Mobile is offering the phone, as spotted by The Verge, while Xfinity Mobile is also stocking the handset.

Samsung wants to make its foldable phones more readily available for everyone. That’s why it’s offering a cheaper variant of its flip form factor this year, but it’s proving difficult for some to buy the new phone in the United States.

As spotted by SamMobile, the Galaxy Z Flip FE isn’t yet on sale from any of the major carriers. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have deals live for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, but there’s no sign of them stocking the Z Flip 7 FE.

The phone is available unlocked directly from Samsung for $899.99, plus other retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy, have the phone on sale. Best Buy often sells phone variants locked to your carrier of choice, but that isn’t an option for this handset.

Boost Mobile is offering the phone, as spotted by The Verge, while Xfinity Mobile is also stocking the handset. These two carriers selling the phone may mean we see other smaller services offer the device at a later date. Right now, PCMag can’t find any other carriers selling the Z Flip 7 FE.

Samsung’s devices are often available through a carrier with the three biggest companies usually stocking all flagship devices from the company. It may be that AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon were caught unaware of a cheaper variant, or it may be that each has decided it won’t sell well enough to warrant stocking.

Samsung didn’t put a lot of focus on its new affordable flip phone during Unpacked. The company skirted over a lot of the key details, briefly mentioning the device after a full introduction to many of the elements of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. That may mean the company isn’t focusing on pushing its cheaper option through carriers.

Elsewhere at Unpacked, a Samsung executive suggested the company may still launch a trifold device before the end of the year. Samsung is figuring out whether there’s enough demand to enter production on a larger foldable smartphone.

Samsung’s First Trifold Phone May Still Happen Soon Despite Missing Unpacked

Samsung’s head of mobile, TM Roh, said the company is considering a launch later this year. An unnamed company executive told Android Authority that a trifold device is ready to go into production, but the company has yet to figure out if there’s enough demand to justify it. Samsung is also rumored to be bringing its Android XR headset to market before the end of the year. It may be that Samsung launches this alongside atrifold phone in a third Unpacked launch for 2025.Project Moohan is the codename for the device.

Samsung’s July Unpacked saw the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Watch 8, and even a cheaper foldable called the Z Flip 7 FE. Some fans had been anticipating a teaser for the company’s first ever trifold phone, but there was no sign of the innovative folding design at Unpacked.

Samsung has now confirmed a trifold is in development, and it may even arrive by the end of the year. During the Unpacked event, Samsung’s head of mobile, TM Roh, told The Korea Times that the company is considering a launch later this year.

TM Roh said, “We are working hard on a trifold smartphone with the goal of launching it at the end of this year. We are now focusing on perfecting the product and its usability, but we have not decided its name. As the product nears completion, we are planning to make a final decision soon.”

Samsung is so far along with trifold design that the latest One UI 8 build even has hidden elements that show diagrams of a trifold device. Those give us a clear idea of the look Samsung is aiming for, and it’s likely to be similar to the G Flex concept device the brand showed at MWC 2025. You can see that concept at the top of this article.

TM Roh’s comments suggest Samsung is figuring out how to bring the device to market. Elsewhere at Samsung Unpacked, an unnamed company executive told Android Authority that a trifold device is ready to go into production, but the company has yet to figure out if there’s enough demand to justify it.

The executive said, “We’ve had a tri-fold for some time, designed and everything. So it’s not a new concept to us. What we’re debating is the viability. When I say the viability, is there really a demand for this form factor?” The executive confirmed the company is “deeply investigating” whether it’s worth putting into production.

This executive seems less certain of a release than TM Roh himself, so it’s currently unclear whether Samsung will have a third foldable form factor on sale later this year.

Samsung is also rumored to be bringing its Android XR headset to market before the end of the year. It may be that Samsung launches this alongside a trifold phone in a third Unpacked launch for 2025.

Project Moohan is the codename for the device. A recent leak suggests Samsung plans to launch the device in a limited capacity before the end of October. That same source says the company plans to make 100,000 units for its initial run.
