While the severe weather risk is generally low, numerous lightning strikes can’t be ruled out. It’s best to give yourself extra time when traveling this long weekend.

Cloud cover and rain will keep high temperatures in the 80s and low 90s regionally, so traveling to the beach or lake may not be the best idea.

Across the country, another cold front will bring unseasonably cooler-than-normal temperatures to most parts of the Rockies.

We’ll stay seasonably warm in Central Texas with highs in the mid-90s. Rain chances will be minimal for the work week.

There is no severe weather expected through Tuesday across the lower 48, but some daytime heating thunderstorms are possible for the Plains, Southwest, and Southeast.
