All the Celebrities on the 2025 Tony Awards Red Carpet
The 2025 Tony Awards will be hosted by Wicked star Cynthia Erivo. George Clooney and Nicole Scherzinger are among the big names nominated. The ceremony will air on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET. Watch this space for the best red-carpet looks from the red carpet. The Tony Awards are theater’s biggest night.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by none other than Broadway legend and Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, who plays the fearless Elphaba in the 2024 film adaptation of the iconic musical. (We only hope costar Ariana Grande joins her for a dramatic performance on stage.)
Big stars nominated tonight include George Clooney for his record-breaking play Good Night, and Good Luck, and Nicole Scherzinger for Sunset Blvd.
Clooney is up against several actors for his award: Cole Escola for the beloved show Oh, Mary!, Daniel Dae Kim for Yellow Face, Louis McCartney for Stranger Things: The First Shadow, and both Jon Michael Hill and Harry Lennix for Purpose.
Other popular actors nominated include Sadie Sink for John Proctor is the Villain, Sarah Snook for The Picture of Dorian Gray, Mia Farrow for The Roommate, Darren Criss for Maybe Happy Ending, Jonathan Groff for Just In Time, and Audra McDonald for Gypsy.
The 78th Tony Awards will air on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET, but the red carpet will start much earlier. Watch this space for the best red-carpet looks.
How One Photographer Shot Striking Photos Inside the 2025 Met Gala—and Dressed Quite Dandy for the Job
Denise Stephanie Hewitt is the youngest photographer to have ever been commissioned to do so. She first photographed the Met age 19, and this was her first year inside as things really went down. This time, she got deeper inside, capturing some of the night’s most striking scenes and portraiture. “I’m used to being the youngest in the room, and have been able to pave my way in spite of it,” she says.
“I still get chills each year I get the email asking me to photograph it,” Hewitt tells Vogue. She first photographed the Met age 19, and this was her first year inside as things really went down. “It’s an invite to an intimate space where people are workshopping their final look in real time or practicing their plating before guests arrive. There’s trust put on me to capture a record of people’s artistic practice that does it justice. I’m used to being the youngest in the room, and have been able to pave my way in spite of it.”
Hewit knew that, this year, she would be photographing the co-chairs—A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams, and Lewis Hamilton—but wasn’t aware who the secret “special guest” joining them would be. She waited around for the moment, watching Megan thee Stallion and Sabrina Carpenter pass by. When she saw former vice president Kamala Harris (wearing a custom look from Off-White, designed by creative director IB Kamara, for her first Met Gala appearance) emerge from behind the curtains, she couldn’t believe it: “I made the shots very quick, counting out loud to get everyone prepared, and got out of the way.”
