Trump Drops F-Bomb in Angry Rant as Ceasefire Gets Off to Rocky Start
President Donald Trump said he was “not happy’ with Israel and Iran. The president had a terse conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday. Israel launched a wave of surprise attacks targeting Iranian military officials and members of its nuclear program last week. Trump then entangled the United States in the conflict, bombing major nuclear facilities in Iran on Saturday. Iran responded with an intentionally ineffective missile launches against U.S. military targets in the region. The Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the military would resume its offensive against Iran, and aWave of drone attacks was deployed against Iranian military bases — and planned for more. On Tuesday morning, Iran reportedly fired a barrage of missiles that struck an apartment complex in southern Israel, killing at least four people. The Iranian military later denied firing the munitions in violation of the ceasefire, and Israel responded by striking a radar base north of Tehran. On Monday, Trump wrote that “there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!”

Speaking to reporters outside of the White House, Trump said he was “not happy” with Israel and Iran.
“We basically have two countries that are fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing,” he ranted. “[Iran] violated, but Israel violated it too. Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs — the likes of which I’ve never seen before, the biggest load that we’ve seen — I’m not happy with Israel.”

“CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT’S TIME FOR PEACE!” Trump wrote shortly after on Monday, adding that it “has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE […] for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!”
Case closed, skirmish over, regional destabilization and global conflict averted … or so one would hope.
“THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” Trump wrote Tuesday at one in the morning as reports circulated of escalating tensions between the two nations. “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!” he wrote on Truth Social at around six in the morning. About an hour and a half later, Trump wrote that “ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
According to Axios, the president had a decidedly terse conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, in which the Israeli leader said he was unable to cancel the ordered strikes against Iran, but agreed to scale them back. Trump spoke to Netanyahu in “an exceptionally firm and direct way,” a White House source told Axios.
“The president told Netanyahu what needed to happen to sustain the ceasefire. The Prime Minister understood the severity of the situation and the concerns President Trump expressed,” the source added.
Throughout the Israel-Hamas war, the Netanyahu government has repeatedly been accused of violating ceasefire agreements and tanking peace negotiations. In May, Israel broke a ceasefire agreement with Hamas by launching a wave of surprise airstrikes and blockading the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza amid talks to extend a previously negotiated pause in hostilities. Over the course of the war, the United States, Israel’s chief military and political ally, has refused to meaningfully press the nation to commit to a ceasefire, or penalize it for violating human rights law over the course of the war. Even as Trump attempts to coordinate a workable ceasefire between Israel and Iran, on Tuesday morning Israeli military forces reportedly opened fire on crowds of Palestinians — who remain in near-starvation conditions — waiting for humanitarian aid in central Gaza, killing at least 25 people. The massacre is the latest instance in a string of incidents that humanitarian groups say have resulted in hundreds of Palestinians being killed while awaiting scarce food and provisions under the control of the Israeli military.
Regardless of Israel’s recent history of breaking ceasefires, Trump’s allies in Congress and the media are declaring him a peacemaker — days after he ordered a military strike against Iran. “President Trump is going to win the Nobel Peace Prize, no doubt,” Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) said on Fox News last night, adding that he has “brought peace to a region that needed stability.”
It doesn’t appear to be that simple, unfortunately.
