COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -A new TSA program is giving military families some added travel benefits, starting with skipping the line.

The “Serve with Honor, Travel with Ease” campaign is now active at 11 airports across the country, including Colorado Springs Airport. Active-duty service members can now move to the front of the security line just by showing their military ID. No Precheck enrollment is required.

TSA says the goal is to make travel easier for the military community. The agency chose airports near major military bases and is also sending mobile PreCheck enrollment teams to some installations.

The campaign also includes a $25 PreCheck discount for military spouses and free enrollment for Gold Star families.

“This is the first of its kind, We want to make sure the people who serve, and their families can travel with less stress” Acting Deputy Administrator Adam Stahl said.

The TSA said it’s monitoring how the changes impact wait times and plans to expand the program in the future.
