MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – With peak summer travel season approaching, staff with the Dane County Regional Airport are offering some tips for flyers if you’re headed out of town.

TSA officials said travelers can save time at the airport by preparing well at home while packing.

Mark Lendvay, who is the Wisconsin TSA Federal Security Director, said the staff is ready for the higher number of travelers.

“We are prepared for the rising volumes, but we need everyone’s help in particular the traveling public so we’re all ready and we know what to expect in our screening process. So arrive early.”

Officials said the busiest times at the Dane County Airport are in the morning between 4-6:30 a.m.

Below is a list of things travelers cannot carry:

Aerosol cans like spray sunscreen

any alcohol over 140 proof

pepper spray

knives
