TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — The Tulare County Public Health Department has confirmed two cases of measles.
Health officials say both cases were in children who were unvaccinated.
They are the first measles cases of the year in the county.
Across the state, this year, there have been 18 cases reported as of July 21, and two of those were in Fresno County.
It comes as the CDC says the U.S. is having its worst year for measles spread in more than three decades.

Officials are now working to identify others who may have been exposed. They say the children contracted the virus when traveling out of the state.
Symptoms can take anywhere from 7-21 days to develop following exposure.
Common symptoms include fever, cough, tiny white spots inside the mouth, and a skin rash. If you begin to feel any of these symptoms, you’re asked to call your doctor.
