US director of national intelligence makes chilling ‘nuclear annihilation’ warning to humanity
Tulsi Gabbard, US director of national intelligence, posted video on Twitter. In it, she discusses the threat of nuclear war and nuclear winter. Warns that a single nuclear bomb could ‘kill millions in minutes’ and destroy the Earth. Says world leaders are ‘carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers’ She adds: ‘It is up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness’ The video was posted as geopolitical tensions continue to rise in the world. The UK has a plan in place in the event of a nuclear attack, according to the Foreign Office. The US government has not commented on the video, which was posted on its own social media account.
Tulsi Gabbard took to her personal social media account to post a harrowing video in which she shares her thoughts on the current state of the world, and questions world leaders about why nuclear weapons would ever be necessary.
Barely a day goes by at the moment without someone warning about the threat of nuclear war, and unless Russia is willing to withdraw its forces from Ukraine, it seems as if the world’s most powerful countries will continue to be at each other’s throats.
Tulsi Gabbard makes worrying claims
In her video on Twitter, Gabbard – who did not appear to be speaking on behalf of the US government – said: “As we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before, political elites and warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers.
“Perhaps it’s because they are confident that they will have access to nuclear shelters for themselves and for their families that regular people won’t have access to. So it’s up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness.”

‘Kill millions in just minutes’
Reflecting on a recent visit to Hiroshima, one of the two Japanese cities, alongside Nagasaki, that the US targeted with a nuclear bomb in 1945, Gabbard suggested that modern nuclear weapons would do even more damage and could ‘kill millions in minutes.’
She said: “This attack obliterated the city, killed over 300,000 people, many dying instantly while others died from severe burns, injuries, radiation sickness and cancer that set in in the following months and years.”
Modern weapons could also spark a nuclear winter ‘with smoke and ash completely blocking the sun, plunging the world into darkness and cold, killing crops and starving billions.’

While it seems as if the UK already has its response planned out in the event of a nuclear attack, this stark warning shows how much damage would be done in the event of a weapon being used.
Speaking in the video, Gabbard added: “This one bomb, that caused so much destruction on Hiroshima, was tiny compared to today’s nuclear bombs.

“The bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima had a yield of just 15 kilotons of TNT, whereas today’s nuclear warheads range in size from 100 kilotons to one megaton. A single nuclear weapon today would kill millions in just minutes. Just one of these nuclear bombs would vaporise everything at its core. People, buildings, life itself.”
‘This isn’t some made up science fiction story’
She continued: “The shockwave would crush structures miles away killing and maiming countless people. And then, comes the fallout. Radioactive poison spreading through the air, water and soil condemning survivors to agonising deaths or lifelong suffering. Acid rain would scar the Earth wiping out entire ecosystems.

“This isn’t some made up science fiction story. This is the reality of what is at stake, what we are facing now. It is up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness. We must reject this path to nuclear war and work towards a world where nobody has to live in fear of a nuclear holocaust.”
US intelligence chief recounts Hiroshima visit, warns of ‘nuclear annihilation’
US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has warned that the world is “closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before” Her comments came after a visit to the atomic-bombed Japanese city, Hiroshima. She said the suffering, pain and sense of loss that the paintings convey are “almost more powerful than the photos themselves”
Gabbard made the statement in a video message posted on social media on Tuesday. She said that she had recently visited Hiroshima.
She explained that she learned about the devastation caused by the atomic bombings of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
In the video she said: “It’s hard for me to find the words to express what I saw, the stories that I heard, the haunting sadness that still remains. This is an experience that will stay with me forever.”
Gabbard spoke about some paintings created by survivors of the bombings. She said the suffering, pain and sense of loss that the paintings convey are “almost more powerful than the photos themselves.”
The director said the destructive power of today’s nuclear weapons surpasses that of the bombs dropped on the Japanese cities during World War Two.
She said: “This is the reality of what’s at stake, what we are facing now, because, as we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before, political elite warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers.”
Gabbard concluded: “So it’s up to us, people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness. We must reject this path to a nuclear war, and work toward a world where no one has to live in fear of a nuclear holocaust.”

Tulsi Gabbard, 44, talked of her recent visit to Hiroshima, Japan, which exposed her to the aftermath of the US nuclear attack on the city during World War II. She made the harrowing warning that due to how powerful today’s nuclear weapons are compared to 1945, a “single nuclear weapon today could kill millions in minutes” She told her 3.7 million X followers: “This is the reality of what’s at stake, what we are facing now” Her deputy chief of staff Alexa Henning said her concern on nuclear war is shared by President Donald Trump. She said: “President Trump has repeatedly stated in the past that he recognizes the immeasurable suffering, and annihilation can be caused by nuclear war” Many took to the comments of the baffling video to call it “unhinged” among other things. The ex-Democratic congresswoman has previously made stark warnings of nuclear war before her party switch last year.

As the footage rolls, the US Director of National Intelligence speaks directly to the camera on the consequences of a nuclear attack.
She made the harrowing warning that due to how powerful today’s nuclear weapons are compared to 1945, a “single nuclear weapon today could kill millions in minutes”.
Gabbard told her 3.7 million X followers: “This is the reality of what’s at stake, what we are facing now.

“Because as we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before, political elite warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers.”
She even suggested that people in power are aware they would be unaffected by such consequences as they’d have access to “nuclear shelters”.
Gabbard went on: “It’s up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness.
“We must reject this path to nuclear war and work toward a world where no one has to live in fear of a nuclear holocaust.”

It is currently unclear when Gabbard made the video, but she travelled to Japan last week and visited a US military base with George Glass, the US Ambassador to Japan.
The intel chief hadn’t visited Hiroshima in her first trip to the country in March, according to a readout from her office.

Reflecting on the damage caused by the Hiroshima bombing, Gabbard added: “This attack obliterated the city, killed over 300,000 people, many dying instantly, while others died from severe burns, injuries, radiation, sickness and cancer that set in the following months and years.
“Nagasaki suffered the same fate: homes, schools, families; all gone in a flash.”

Many took to the comments of the baffling video to call it “unhinged” among other things.
Upon being asked to explain Gabbard’s bizarre video, her deputy chief of staff Alexa Henning jumped to the intel chief’s defence, saying that her concern on nuclear war is shared by Trump.
Henning said: “President Trump has repeatedly stated in the past that he recognizes the immeasurable suffering, and annihilation can be caused by nuclear war, which is why he has been unequivocal that we all need to do everything possible to work towards peace.
“DNI Gabbard supports President Trump’s clearly stated objectives of bringing about lasting peace and stability and preventing war.”

Gabbard – an ex-Democratic congresswoman and presidential candidate – has previously made stark warnings of nuclear war before her party switch last year.
In her 2019 presidential campaign, she said the world is “on the precipice of nuclear war,” and was an advocate for bolstering nuclear treaties in Congress.
An X post of Gabbard’s from 2023 reads: “The warmongers are trying to drag us into WW3, which can only end in one way: nuclear annihilation and the suffering and death of all our loved ones.
“Zelensky, Biden, NATO, congressional and media neocons are insane.

US intel chief warns global nuclear annihilation is closer than ever
Tulsi Gabbard, the US director of national intelligence (DNI), released a video on June 11 warning that the world is closer to nuclear war than ever. She accused unnamed political elites of trying to foment conflict between world powers. She did not cite any countries by name, but her remarks echoed long-time claims by Russian officials and, more recently, by far-right commentators in the US. “It’s up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness,” she said.
– Ms Tulsi Gabbard, the US director of national intelligence (DNI), released a video on June 11 warning that the world is closer to nuclear war than ever and accusing unnamed political elites of trying to foment conflict between world powers.
She did not cite any countries by name, but her remarks echoed long-time claims by Russian officials and, more recently, by far-right commentators in the US who have warned that the Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s strategic bomber fleet earlier in June made nuclear war more likely.
“As we stand here today, closer to the brink of nuclear annihilation than ever before, political elite and warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers,” Ms Gabbard said in the video posted on social media platform X.
“Perhaps it’s because they are confident that they will have access to nuclear shelters for themselves and for their families that regular people won’t have access to,” she added. “It’s up to us, the people, to speak up and demand an end to this madness.”
The video was prompted by her visit to Hiroshima, Japan, where she said she saw the after-effects of the US decision to drop an atomic bomb on the city in 1945.
Foreboding music played in the background as archival footage showed victims of the attack.
“A single nuclear weapon today could kill millions in just minutes, just one of these nuclear bombs would vaporise everything at its core,” Ms Gabbard said.
The video then cut to mock footage of a nuclear attack on San Francisco that obliterated the Golden Gate Bridge.
Ms Alexa Henning, the director’s deputy chief of staff, said in a statement on June 10: “DNI Gabbard supports President (Donald) Trump’s clearly stated objectives of bringing about lasting peace and stability and preventing war.”

Tulsi Gabbard warns of ‘nuclear holocaust’ in ominous video: We’re ‘closer to the brink’ of annihilation than ever before
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard warned of a “nuclear holocaust” as she ripped warmongers for bringing the world closer to the “brink of nuclear annihilation” than ever before. Her grim remarks come as the US continues to broker cease-fire negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, as well as Israel and Gaza. Trump signaled he is losing hope that Iran will agree to end all uranium enrichment in a revised nuclear deal — but remains determined not to allow Tehran to get its hands on an atomic weapon. He told The Post’s Miranda Devine that he is “much less confident of a deal being made”
President Trump’s intelligence director posted an ominous three-minute social media video on Tuesday to sound the alarm on the consequences of a nuclear attack following her recent visit to Hiroshima, Japan, which was destroyed in such an attack in 1945.
“This is the reality of what’s at stake, what we are facing now,” Gabbard said.

Trump signaled he is losing hope that Iran will agree to end all uranium enrichment in a revised nuclear deal — but remains determined not to allow Tehran to get its hands on an atomic weapon.
“I don’t know,” Trump told The Post’s Miranda Devine when asked if he thought he could get Iran to agree to shut down its nuclear program.
“I don’t know. I did think so, and I’m getting more and more — less confident about it.

“They seem to be delaying, and I think that’s a shame, but I’m less confident now than I would have been a couple of months ago. Something happened to them, but I am much less confident of a deal being made.”
Gabbard’s warning also comes as the US continues to broker cease-fire negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, as well as Israel and Gaza.
