His Excellency Ambassador Bob Rae, President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and Canada’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has shared a powerful video message in support of World Brain Day 2025.

In his message, Ambassador Rae emphasizes the critical global importance of brain health across the lifespan. He explains that brain health is not only a medical concern, but also an economic, social, and humanitarian priority. From early childhood development to aging populations, brain health is fundamental to our individual potential and collective progress.

Ambassador Rae commended the ongoing efforts of the global neurology community—including doctors, nurses, researchers, allied health professionals, and caregivers—who are working tirelessly to improve access to brain health for all people, everywhere.

The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) is honoured to feature Ambassador Rae’s message in the World Brain Day 2025 Global Webinar, taking place on July 22 at 1:00 p.m. BST. This live event will bring together world-leading experts, UN and WHO partners, and representatives from six global regions for inspiring discussions and a live Q&A.
