The United Capital City Soccer Club is getting closer to laying turf at their new

U.C.C.S.C. says it’s had a few delays because of severe weather but is still on pace to open its new Mid-America Bank Sports Complex in the fall.

It might not seem like much is happening at the complex’s location, but U.C.C.S.C. Executive Director Tom Chapman says that will change in just a few weeks.

“We’re still flattening out, and hopefully, by next week, we’ll have everything flattened out to get ready for turf. Turf is supposed to be here July 15th and July 20th. We’ve also got backstops, poles, lights, and everything else coming here shortly at the end of June. So, a lot going on in the next 30 to 45 days.”

Chapman says the complex’s ability to host various sports will be put to the test once it first opens.

They will host several soccer, softball, and baseball tournaments throughout October.
