July 29 (Reuters) – The U.S. Department of Justice dropped its bid to block American Express Global Business Travel Group’s acquisition of CWT Holdings, according to court records entered in New York on Tuesday.

The U.S. sued in January, before President Donald Trump took office, to block the proposed merger, saying the $570 million deal would eliminate competition between the largest and third-largest providers of business travel management services.
