JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who escaped from Eastern State Hospital Saturday morning.

According to authorities, 50-year-old Glenn Jefferson Large Jr. was last seen around 10:15 a.m., climbing over the hospital’s perimeter fence. He was wearing a gray sweater and gray sweatpants at the time.

While there is no indication that he poses an immediate threat to the public, state and local officials are urging residents not to approach him and to call 911 immediately if he is spotted.

Law enforcement agencies are working closely with hospital staff and mental health professionals to safely return Large to the facility.
