As a source of inspiration, we hunted down some of our favorite celebrity-worn cruising looks, as seen on Eva Longoria, Giada De Laurentiis, and Claudia Schiffer, that channel the timeless nautical aesthetic of our dreams.
Yacht-Ready Fashion Inspired by Celebrities
Olaesa Lace Maxi Dress
Eva Longoria/Instagram; Amazon
One thing’s for sure, Eva Longoria has an enviable vacation wardrobe. She recently posted a photo carousel on Instagram of her adventures in Madrid, Spain, and one outfit in particular screamed “yacht” to us: Her crisp white dress is the perfect travel staple with its breezy sleeves, cinched waistline, and maxi length. We tracked down a similar style that has the same flowy structure with some adorable lace additions around the bottom of the skirt. Follow in Longoria’s footsteps by wearing the dress with simple gold hoops and a pair of sparkly sandals.
Furtalk Wide-Brim Straw Hat
Giada De Laurentiis/Instagram; Amazon
While in Rhode Island, Giada De Laurentiis stunned in a bright blue dress from Proenza Schouler. But what really caught our attention was her stylish approach to sun protection via her wide-brim straw hat. This version from Furtalk is almost identical to De Laurentiis,’ down to the white ribbon wrapped around the base of the hat. Plus, it’s customizable thanks to the adjustable inner and chin straps. A recent buyer said that it “adds style to anything from dresses to bathing suits while protecting you from the sun.”
We couldn’t find an exact match for De Laurentiis’ dress on Amazon, but this navy number with gold buttons strikes a similar style chord.
Imer Lingerie Ribbed Lace-Front Tank Top
Claudia Schiffer/Instagram; Amazon
We’re obsessed with Claudia Schiffer’s simple approach to fashion. Our favorite item in her wardrobe right now is the ethereal Ribbed Lace-Front Tank by Chloe, but we’d rather not spend close to $900 on it. Alternatively, we found an incredibly similar style for less than $20 that still epitomizes that classic yacht aesthetic.
According to one shopper, who’s now purchased the shirt in multiple colors, “The delicate lace adds such a pretty, feminine touch that makes it perfect to wear on its own or layered under sweaters, blouses, or jackets.” We also think this would be a perfect top to throw over a bathing suit or pair with a flowy midi skirt.
