502 Black Business Week kicked off Saturday with music, food, and vendors at the West End Farmers Market. Now in its eighth year, the annual event coincides with Juneteenth celebrations. The farmers market aims to expand access to fresh produce and healthy food options in west Louisville.
“There’s a lot of us down here that people just don’t know about,” said Deltrice Anderson, the owner of Teas with Purpose. “So, this is a great way to be able to help the food desert and help each other be able to survive and make it.”
502 Black Business Week runs through Saturday, June 21, but organizers said they hope the impact lasts even longer.
