Western lifestyle celebrated at Way Out West Weekend
The two-day event was a fundraiser for the philanthropic work of the Ramona Rodeo Foundation. Activities included barrel racing, pole bending and team penning, and well as equine wellness presentations. The late Steve Tellam and his father, Willy Tellam, both of Ramona, were heavily involved in team pening, sorting and helping youngsters in 4H, FFA and theRamona R rodeo. The top five teams now qualify for the Ramonson Rodeos, which will be held Aug. 21-23. The two-day event was a fundraiser for the philanthropic work of the Ramona Rodeo Foundation, including the funding of local nonprofits, sponsorships and educational scholarships, according to event organizers Selena Roberts, Jeanne Malone and Rachelle Laws.
Saturday’s activities included barrel racing, pole bending and team penning, and well as equine wellness presentations.

The Ramona Rodeo Jr. Barrels Qualifier will be held at the Fred Grand Area on Saturday, Aug. 16.
The Steve Tellam Memorial Team Penning will take place prior to the Rodeo Performance each night. The Ramona Rodeo will be held Aug. 21-23.
