A 34-year-old woman was booked on Thursday (June 26, 2025) for recklessly driving her car on the railway track near Shankarpally, triggering panic among the locals.

The woman, identified as Vomika Soni, is a native of Lucknow and currently resides in Shankarpally. In a video that has gone viral on social media, she was seen speeding away on tracks as railway personnel attempted to stop her.

According to Shankarpally Inspector K Srinivas Goud, the woman also threw stones at bystanders and allegedly attempted to attack police officers during the rescue operation. She was later taken into custody by railway police and sent for a medical examination.

Distressed

Initial inquiries with her family indicated that she has been mentally distressed since losing her IT job recently. “She was working with Capgemini and recently lost her job. The family claimed that she has since been mentally unstable. We are awaiting the results of her medical evaluation before proceeding further,” the officer said.

A case has been booked by the Shankarpally police of the Cyberabad commissionerate and further investigation is underway.
