I’m hoping for is that once you enter, you feel real, Africa. I’m excited, filled with joy. I decided to bring it close to their doorstep. Africa, to your door. You don’t need to go outside. You just need to be here, because we have everything. You come here, you see different cultures, not only Ghana, but we have Nigeria and Cameroon. We have Nigerian beads, Nigerian dresses and all Africa. You don’t need to travel, this is Africa,” Appiah said.

It also has food and offers braiding.

Appiah encourages all to come out.

“Yeah, I’m so excited. We are number one when it comes to African clothing, kente, jewelries, slippers; we are number one. So, I decided to bring it to Lynchburg. Since we have the Black community and the whites. Some of the whites also love to wear African things, so we are blending everything together,” Appiah said.

She and her father will run this business together.

“I lived in Ghana. I moved here three years ago. Yeah, so currently, I’ve been here three years. And, yeah, I and my father decided to come together and bring his and he’s here. He’s born here. He’s a Black American, so we collaborate, and here we are now,” Appiah said.
