Reports said that Jasbir had visited Pakistan several times and had even posted about his visit in April 24. His videos were about ‘Jatha’, which takes pilgrims to Pakistan’s holy sites. In the video, Jasbir was seen hugging the police personnel in Pakistan.

“Pakistani police da piyar (the love of Pakistani police),” Jasbir had captioned the video that was posted on his YouTube channel ‘Jaan Mahal’.

Jasbir Singh has been arrested as part of India’s crackdown on spy networks that work closely with Pakistan to pass sensitive information across borders.

Singh is a resident of Punjab’s Mahlan village in Rupnagar district and his YouTube channel has over a million subscribers. He also has 40,000 followers on Instagram.
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said, “Jasbir Singh, who operates a YouTube channel called ‘Jaan Mahal’, has been found associated with PIO Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, part of a terror-backed espionage network.”
Reportedly, Singh was also in contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national who was expelled by India as an official of the Pakistan High Commission.

Reports have said that both Jasbir Singh and Jyoti Malhotra, who have been arrested under espionage charges, were in close contact with each other.
Jyoti Malhotra was earlier arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan but she told her father, who visited her in jail, that she is innocent.
She had also posted videos about her visit to Pakistan on her YouTube channel and was also in contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish.

“After Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest, Jasbir attempted to erase all traces of his communications with these PIOs to avoid detection,” said the Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab Police.

Singh, a resident of Mahlan village in Rupnagar, was arrested by the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Mohali. He ran a YouTube channel named ‘Jaan Mahal’ and is believed to have maintained close contact with several Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) suspected of operating under the influence of Pakistani handlers.
Among them are Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, previously arrested on espionage charges, and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national who was expelled from the Pakistani High Commission in India.
Jasbir Singh was reportedly invited by Danish to the Pakistan National Day event held in Delhi, where he interacted with Pakistani Army officials and vloggers, according to the DGP, Punjab Police.

He is also reported to have travelled to Pakistan on three separate occasions — in 2020, 2021, and 2024.
His seized electronic devices contained multiple Pakistan-based contact numbers, which are currently undergoing forensic analysis, said the DGP.
He was also in touch with another PIO, Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, who is believed to be a crucial link in the terror-backed intelligence network.
An FIR has been registered at SSOC, Mohali. A comprehensive investigation is underway to trace the full extent of the espionage network and identify more collaborators, said the DGP, Punjab Police.
“Punjab Police remains firmly committed to safeguarding national security and will not allow anti-national elements to thrive on our soil,” the DGP asserted.
