Exact time New York to swelter in punishing triple digit temperatures as experts issue warning
New Yorkers are expected to bake this weekend and next week, as an extremely hot heatwave could be on the way. The National Weather Service defines a heatwave as at least three consecutive days with high temperatures of at least 90 degrees. Temperatures will creep above 90F on Sunday, June 22, for Staten Island, Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. The mercury will then hover in the 90s for nearly a whole week, only dipping back into the 80s on Saturday, June 28.
A heatwave by definition is of course, hot, but this one in particular could see temperatures reach the triple digits – with certain parts of New York expected to get the heat worse than others.
“Excessive” or “severe” heat is expected this weekend and next week, with a heat advisory expected to be released to the public at some point in the coming days – as locals are being urged to be safe in the summer sunshine.

Heatwave to bake New Yorkers
The National Weather Service defines a heatwave as at least three consecutive days with high temperatures of at least 90 degrees, and that’s exactly what New Yorkers should brace for.
Only Queens is expected to have slightly cooler temperatures, and even they will be hot enough to the point that people are being urged to take precautions.
Try to limit intense outdoor activities during extreme heat. If you begin to experience signs of heat-related illness, stay hydrated with water or electrolyte-rich fluids. Move to a shaded area, rest, and use cool, damp cloths to help bring your body temperature down.
When exactly will New York heatwave arrive?

The hottest day will be either Monday or Tuesday, depending on where you are in the city, with temperatures potentially set to reach the 100s on Tuesday in particular.
The National Weather Service defines a heatwave as at least three consecutive days with high temperatures of at least 90 degrees, and that is almost a guarantee for the coming days in New York.
As a result, the heatwave is technically expected to arrive this weekend, but the weather could be at its hottest on Tuesday.
